Junior Flyers 5.30 - 6.30pm
The Club has a long and illustrious history of helping to create some of Wales & Britains top athletes in the sport. With Numerous members having made the Welsh squad, been champions at various levels, and several Britsh Squad & Team members over the years.
Many of those athletes started their skiing days at the Plas y Brenin Ski Slope and it has proven, though short in length, to be a great training ground for them all.
To carry on that great tradition we now have a new generation of budding champions, since the re-opening of the Plas y Brenin slope we have had several intro / taster and schools ski races and the u12's category has been almost over subscribed as a consequence.
To try and channel some of that enthusiasm and eagerness to compete we're starting up a 'Junior Flyers' session from 5.30 - 6.30pm each week for 6 - 12 year olds (approx) for those keen to take the challenge to the next level. The focus will be on skiing with similar ability and age groups and developing their skill sets. It will be a fun session and not all serious and grey faces and they'll get a lot out it to boot.
The session isn't just for budding racers but for they will learn great skills for all their skiing passions, be it bumps, free-ski and / or slopestyle, or just generally
This particular session will be by invitation only, so if you or your little un are keen and interested then speak to one of our coaches and they will lete you knwo what you need to do.
Race Training 6.30 - 8pm
From 6.30 - 8pm is our Race Training session for over 12's primarily, and our keen masters racers section, one of who's members won the last PyB race series, and another of whom (Mat Ingle) recently claimed the British Indoor Masters Championship title! You can't keep a good generation down!
The Friday evenings are mainly focused on skills in the gates and advanced race technique, with the intention of going faster through the gates. Competent skiers welcome and again, the focus is on fun, enjoyment and skills development.
A good read here from one of our masters members from the PyB race series earlier this year, 2015.
See you there then!
