For the coming season then there will be an ongoing Instructor Training Session at the Plas y Brenin Slope every Tuesday from 7 - 8.30pm (subject to Trainer availability - check with us before attending to avoid dissapointment!*) with some of our more experienced Instructors & Coaches parting with some of their wisdom & knowledge gathered over some not so inconsiderable number of years when added together!
The Club has a long history (one of the oldest Clubs & Dry Sloes in the UK) of providing quality instruction and training thereof.
Subsidised Instructor Training:
We are also as a club are in the fortunate position of being able to provide heavily subsidised instructor training, thanks to a Sport Wales, primarily for Level 1 Training Courses but not exclusively.
There is currently a level one course part way through, but we are looking to arrange another in the forthcoming weeks.
The minimum skiing requirements are, that you need to be able to perform basic parallel turns, be aged 14 or above (please note: you cannot take Level 1 Assessment until age 16 but can train when younger).
You will also need to attend a Safeguarding Children workshop and have an up to date First Aid Certificate - both these courses run fairly regularly in the area, and we can help you find courses to attend at minimal expense.
This is a great opportunity for youngsters or anyone to add skills to their CV even if it's a career path you'd like to pursue, there are lots of skill sets you can aquire and develope throughout, and won't cost the earth to do!
NB. The cost will be HEAVILY subsidised, on the proviso that trainees are willing to commit to helping to instruct an agreed minimum number of NWSC sessions / hours.
You can also come along to the Tuesday evening sessions and pick up tips as you goand speak to our Instructors there for more information. Thanks.
